  • What does my Wine Hopper ticket cover?
    You get an all-day ticket to hop-on and hop-off our safari vehicles as many times as you want. It’s valid for the day of your booked tour only and expires on return to our ticket office at the Village Market on Market Square Street. Tasting fees and activities at each of our stops are not included.
  • Which wineries will we visit?We offer a varied schedule of different wineries across the week with set routes each day. Check the maps on our ‘How It Works’ page to see the daily routes or, to help you plan the best day for you, click on the wine estate logos on the Routes page to see what each one offers.
  • How long will we spend at each winery?
    That’s the beauty of being a Wine Hopper – you can stay as long as you want knowing another of our vehicles will be along shortly! Our first vehicle leaves Hermanus at 9am and the last pick up from that day’s winery is at 4.30pm, apart from the festive late opening hours in December and early January. Which farms you visit and how long you stay on your tour is up to you.
  • How much does a wine tasting cost?
    Costs vary depending on the winery from R25-R40 per person. This could be more if you try a wine and food pairing. Often tasting fees are waived when you purchase wine from that winery.
  • What happens if I buy wine – how will I transport it?
    Don’t worry, we can look after it for you. Purchased wines can be left with the drivers and collected on your return to the office with a valid voucher and proof of ID.
  • How do I book tour tickets?
    You can purchase tickets in person at the ticket office at Stall 18, Village Market Stall, Market Square Street in Hermanus, or via this website! To avoid disappointment, we suggest booking in advance. If you book online, just bring your confirmation number with you and you’ll be issued with a ticket for the vehicles.
  • We have a large group, do you offer group bookings?
    We certainly do. Although, due to the amount of safari seats on each truck, we may have to split groups with ten or more people. The best thing to do is contact the office to discuss what you need. We can make reservations at wineries, arrange lunch, and – depending on what offers are available – you may even get a discount on your hopper ticket price. Get in touch to find out more.
  • Where are your pick up and drop off points?
    The tour embarks and disembarks from our ticket office at the Village Market on Market Square Street in Hermanus. At the wineries our drivers will collect from the same location as where you’ve been dropped off. Easy!
  • Can I change the date or time of my scheduled departure?
    Unfortunately we cannot guarantee to make any changes that are requested less than 48hrs before your booked departure time. However, we will always try to accommodate you – subject to space being available. Please contact our ticket office as soon as possible.
  • Is our ticket refundable if I need to cancel?
    Yes, cancellations made 48hrs prior to the time of your tour are eligible for a full refund. Please contact us on +27 76 991 2498 or by email to info@hermanuswinehoppers.co.za as soon as possible.
  • Is there anywhere to park?
    Limited parking is available near our Ticket Office. However, we discourage drinking and driving at all costs and if all guests are wine tasting, we would suggest you take advantage of our shuttle service, which can pick you up at your accommodation and bring you to the tour start point. Pick up is R100 per person from guesthouses, hotels and accommodation within Hermanus. For pick-ups outside of Hermanus, contact the office for a bespoke price.
  • Can I bring my own food or drinks on the tour?
    Sorry, apart from water, no food or beverages can be consumed on our vehicles.
  • Are children allowed on the tour?
    Of course. However, they are taken on the trip at your own risk and we do request that children are supervised at all times. Also, be prepared that not all wineries will have areas for children to play.
  • Are animals allowed in your vehicles?
    Service animals are welcome on the tour by prior arrangement. Unfortunately pets are not. Sorry.
  • What happens if it rains?
    We’ll still have fun! Our vehicles have roll-down panels which the driver will deploy should the weather be unpleasant for an open-sided vehicle. It’s all part of the adventure!
